Welcome to the Heavy Diesel Support Ltd
University of Future Diesel Technicians
We are passionate about big toys and pulling things apart to make them go better. Working primarily in the Forestry, Industrial, Mining, and Marine industries there is a good variety of projects to work on and different physical settings to work in.
We service, repair and sometimes build plant and equipment to keep the wheels of New Zealand Industry turning. Our people can be wielding a sledgehammer and using some tweezers all in the same day. We can be intricately rebuilding an engine, gearbox or pump in our clean room at the workshop or dismantling a broken track motor in a sea of mud or forestry slash.
We can be high up in the mountains, in a mine or bobbing around on a vessel in port diagnosing a fault, sometimes using a computer, listening for clues and talking to operators.
Our work requires both brains and muscle with the stakes high. We are driven by our motto “if it isn’t burning then it isn’t earning for our customers and that’s not okay”.
Leaving only a trail of positive fingerprints is our goal and we take very seriously our obligations to the Environment and Health & Safety, not only as our customer sites demands but because it’s simply the right thing to do.
We work hard during the week so we can play hard in the weekends and especially enjoy this beautiful country with so many things to do.
We strive to live up to our Core Values and filter our business decisions around them:
MAKE THINGS HUM - machines and people
THRIVES on VARIETY
HUMBLE CONFIDENCE - Admits what we don't know, isn’t afraid to ask and loves to learn
PICKS THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB - knows when its right to use a sledgehammer or not
FASTIDIOUS - Everything has it's place
LOYAL - Still cares after 5 o'clock
We are driven to work with young people who want to achieve a qualification in heavy industries.
We want our people to be paid well because they have contributed well to our own financial performance.
We want our people to be physically and mentally strong as this is not tiddlywinks and so food for the body and food for the mind matters.
We are an equal opportunity employer and care about your contribution to our team culture and performance far more than gender, race or religion.
